Awana

Come join us at Lakeside Baptist Church as we begin a new ministry to help the children and youth grow in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Awana is an integrated outreach that is Biblically based. It is mission oriented and is a great discipleship tool used to effectively nurture the children and youth in the Gospel.

“If children’s ministry is important to God, then it should be important to us!” Awana’s prayer is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Our commitment and prayer at Lakeside Baptist is to reach out and begin the ministry in our community. We must remember that children are a gift. God tells us in His word, “Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,  the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3 (NASB) As children they need to be taught and given an example by Christian leaders, “ Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NASB) We must also stand firm in our actions and be ready to correct them when necessary, “My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD or loathe His reproof, For whom the LORD loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:11-12 (NASB) The adults should recognize the opportunity to lead the children and also accept the leadership displayed by the exceptional children, “But Jesus said, ‘Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” Matthew 19:14 (NASB)
