Noah Project

Noah Project
You might ask “what is the Noah Project?” It is a new concept of worship for us here at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Each week as we worshipped I wondered why we couldn’t reach some others in the community. I mean, there are people every Sunday morning who are at the convenience store, the car wash, the parks, bike riding, or many other engaging priorities that they have. Why can’t we get these folks in church? God has placed a huge burden in my heart for reaching the common everyday person in the community. With that thought in mind I began to cultivate this thought of an ordinary worship service that would make unchurched people feel like they belong in this place of worship. Certainly we couldn’t do it during the 1100am service so when and how could we make this happen. I knew that if we could make the sacrifice to add a new worship experience to our calendar then we would have to ask this untouchable group to give in a little as well. 8:30am was our only option. This concept grew even better. We have found that this service not only reaches the unchurched it is beneficial to those who work these shifts that cause them to work different schedules than those of our parents years ago. So now we see some who work 3rd shift that come in work clothes to get a worship experience that they were not able to have before. Some who work on 2nd shift have found that they can come early and spend an extra hour with their family before shift starts. So this new experience has helped us in many ways. Oh yeah, why do we call this the Noah Project?
God called Noah to build an Ark in order for those who wanted to enter in could be rescued from the flood. It was a place that provided salvation. That’s what we are building here at Lakeside Baptist Church, a place of salvation for those who are looking for a rescue! Come and join us @ 8:30 am on Sunday morning.
